Serves as a visitor center and museum featuring historical and interesting information about Grand Saline and the salt industry located there. bullit.gif (176 bytes) Depot Library - Railroad depot constructed at present site in 1923. Restored building serves as location of city's public library and civic center. Located at 201 Pacific Avenue. Phone 903-962-5516

bullit.gif (176 bytes) Chamber of Commerce Pavilion - Located next to the Depot Library, the open air pavilion serves as a meeting place for community activities, including the annual Salt Festival. Phone 903-962-7147 to reserve.

bullit.gif (176 bytes) Short Line Caboose - Donated to the city by Union Pacific Railroad and located in front of the pavilion on Green Street, holds a large signboard depicting the route and history of the Short Line Railway that operated north and south from 1901 to 1963.

bullit.gif (176 bytes) Morton Salt Company - One of the nation's largest underground salt mines. Mining and salt production take place southeast of town in a huge deposit of salt that sits beneath the city. Although public tours are no longer available, information is found at the Salt Palace.
